What’s New In Kinetica 7.1

We’re excited to announce the latest release of Kinetica – the platform built to simultaneously stream, ingest, analyze, and publish data at speed and scale. Kinetica applies high performance analytics, location intelligence, graph analytics, and machine learning capabilities to an organization’s entire collection of data. The 7.1 release scales up Kinetica with petabyte capacity, improves interoperability with data stores, and provides enhanced security and resilience.

Kinetica goes beyond the typical OLAP database model by enabling data to be analyzed in real time as it arrives. Traditional systems are designed to ingest and store data in batch, limiting their ability to enable event-driven decisions. As organizations increasingly move beyond batch data to incorporate streaming, location, and graph data, as well as machine learning into their decision-making, Kinetica is the only platform positioned to provide immediate and actionable insights on data in motion.

The release of Kinetica 7.1 further extends Kinetica’s ability to deliver on the high-value, high-scale use cases our customers depend on us for. The new capabilities include:

  • Support for external tables for unmanaged data stored in HDFS and blob stores
  • Tiered persistent storage now supports a “cold data” tier for low-cost, high-capacity storage
  • New data security and privacy features including role-based access control for rows, and data obfuscation for columns
  • Enhanced cluster resiliency known as “N+1”
  • New monitoring and alerting in KAgent

With better integration with big data lakes, and increased overall capacity to well above a petabyte, our customers can discover more detailed insights and make more accurate inferences. The Kinetica Streaming Data Warehouse delivers on our promise to develop a platform that our customers can trust for their highest-value initiatives.

To learn more, join our upcoming webinar with Nima Negahban, our co-founder and CTO, and Irina Farooq, our chief product officer, on how Kinetica transforms the typical architecture for real-time analytics

Dipti Joshi is director of product management at Kinetica.
